We Are Home Campaign: Immigration Relief for Millions is Closer After House of Representatives Passes Build Back Better Act

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act, historic legislation that if signed by President Biden would be a massive step to a more equitable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and a step towards ending deportation and family separation for millions of immigrants.

Bridgette Gomez, campaign director for We Are Home, said:

“We are disappointed that the House bill does not include a path to citizenship. That is what our communities want and deserve, and we will continue that fight until we win citizenship for all.

“The inclusion of the immigration provisions in the Build Back Better Act is due to the relentless advocacy of our movement and our champions’ support. This is a pivotal first step towards long overdue changes needed to recognize the humanity of immigrants. Now it’s on to the Senate to ensure Congress delivers for immigrant communities this year”.
