WE ARE HOME, SEIU AND FWD.us LAUNCH SIX-FIGURE NATIONAL AD BLITZ PUSHING FOR A PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP AS PART OF ECONOMIC RECOVERY

We Are Home, a coalition of diverse local, statewide and national groups, along with SEIU and FWD.us, are launching a new, mid six-figure television and digital advertising campaign ahead of next week’s votes in the U.S. House of Representatives pushing for bold immigration reform to be included as part of the upcoming economic recovery package.

The House is expected to vote the week of March 15th on legislative proposals to put millions of undocumented immigrants on pathways to citizenship, including the American Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act. Legalizing millions of undocumented immigrants is long overdue, strongly supported by the majority of American people, and will formally recognize undocumented immigrants as the Americans they already are. Our campaign will not stop fighting until we create a roadmap to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented immigrants in America.

The advertising campaign will fund a 30-second spot titled, “Had America’s Back” and “Comunidad” and digital media, which underscore the fact that a successful economic recovery for everyone in America is directly linked to a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants and essential workers, and a commitment to keep families together and safe.

“As we look to build back better and bolster the public health and economic recovery of the United States, lawmakers cannot overlook permanent protections from deportation for the millions of immigrants who have put their lives on the line to provide essential services to our country,” said We Are Home Campaign Director Nathaly Arriola. “Americans across the political spectrum overwhelmingly support a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. It is urgent for lawmakers to pass these protections as part of the upcoming jobs and economic recovery package through the budget reconciliation process.”

The ad will launch this Sunday, March 7, airing during the morning shows (MTP, Face the Nation, This Week and Al Punto) in the DC media market and throughout the week on national cable news programs, as well as with digital ads in DC to reach Members of Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration. The mid six-figure ad buy is part of a larger, comprehensive, eight-figure campaign that will include grassroots organizing, community mobilization, direct action, digital organizing, paid media, cultural organizing and direct advocacy.

We Are Home is a nationwide campaign to fight for immigrant communities on three fronts: prioritizing and demanding a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in America; a moratorium and overhaul of interior enforcement; and broad affirmative relief from deportation.

We Are Home is co-chaired by Community Change/Community Change Action; National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA)/Care in Action; Service Employees International Union (SEIU); United Farmworkers/UFW Foundation; and United We Dream.

Campaign Steering Committee members also include America’s Voice, Detention Watch Network, LA RED/Faith in Action, Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM)-CASA, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), Make the Road New York (MRNY), FWD.us, Immigration Hub, Mijente, National Korean American Service and Education Consortium (NAKASEC), National Immigration Law Center (NILC), UndocuBlack Network, UnidosUS and UNITE HERE.
