We Are Home Action, a coalition of diverse nationwide groups, is launching a new television ad holding Representative John Katko accountable for his vote against the American Rescue Plan and his attempts to distract Americans by taking a taxpayer funded political stunt to the Southern border to divide the country.
The new television ad, “After All”, a $200,000 week-long ad buy will begin running in the Syracuse area on Friday, March 19.
“Representative Katko has turned his back on his constituents. As Syracuse and the rest of the country try to dig out from the devastating economic recession due to the ongoing pandemic, Katko turned his back on his constituents for political gain. He voted against the overwhelmingly popular American Rescue Plan that will help put shots in arms, money in pockets, and kids in schools,” said We Are Home Action’s Campaign Director Nathaly Arriola. “Instead, he chose to ignore the desperate calls for help from his community and chose to take part in a politically motivated stunt at the border. Voters deserve to know the truth on where he stands and hold him accountable.”
“Communities across New York are still facing the devastating health and economic impacts of this pandemic, yet Rep. Katko is choosing to attack and divide people instead of focusing on providing the relief that families need,” said Javier H. Valdés, Co-Executive Director of Make the Road Action.
We Are Home Action is a nationwide campaign to fight for immigrant communities by prioritizing and demanding a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the country and a halt to cruel interior enforcement practices with the hopes of achieving broad affirmative relief from deportation.
We Are Home Action is co-chaired by Community Change Action; Care in Action; Service Employees International Union (SEIU); United Farmworkers; and United We Dream Action.
